Tea Plantations, Sri Lanka

As everyone knows Sri Lanka is famous for tea so I could not imagine my visit in this country without going to this region of Sri Lanka where tea is grown.

From Kandy we set off to the area of Nuwara Eliya which means it was higher and higher as it is a mountainous region and the landscapes were breathtaking. I simply fell in love with this part of Sri Lanka. The tea plantations are so picturesque that it is really hard to describe how beautiful they are and probably even pictures cannot portray the real beauty of this place.

We had an opportunity to visit one of the tea factories which was founded over 100 years ago. A nice man told us about the tea productions, which was very kind of him. So now I know that they pick tea leaves from the same bushes every seven days and they cut them every five years so they would not be too high for the tea pickers.

If you ever come to Sri Lanka, do not hesistate to visit this mountainous and picturesque part of the country as I am sure you will not regret it.
