After the night spent in Bandarawela, we went on a trip to the Horton Plains National Park. The road we took was quite difficult as it was a mountainous one and there were so many windings. What is more it was a very narrow road, but somehow you had to pass the buses from time to time, which was a challenge for the driver, but he managed to do it.
First we were passing small villages with those picturesque and artistic fields, which I simply admire. Then we were driving higher and higher and the landscapes were amazing to me as I love mountains.
Finally we reached the Horton Plains National Park which is located 2130 metres above sea level. The Horton Plains are located on the top of the mountain, but at the same time it is a very vast area with African nature. That was my impression as I did not feel like I was in Sri Lanka anymore. What a different and surprising countenance of Sri Lanka.
The trail to the World's End is very easy and relaxing with "Australian soil" and a bit of a jungle. Once you reach the World's End, you can admire other mountains and the views are spectacular.
