Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, Scotland

Edinburgh Castle is located in the centre of the city and was built on a volcanic rock. It is a symbol of Edinburgh which nowadays is a popular tourist attraction and a home to the Military Tattoo. 


The castle is situated on the huge volcanic rock

Annually at the end of the Edinburgh Festival and on New Year's Eve there is a firework display from the castle. 



The Royal Mile is the name of the streets which lead from the Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace. 


Royal Mile is full of people during the Festival

Holyrood Palace is the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland
